Just when Amanda needs advice about how to respond to the Christmas invite from her estranged family, she’s dropped right into a famous passage from Luke’s Gospel: the story of the Prodigal Son. The abrupt encounter reminds Amanda that the Father’s arms are always open and that above all else, Christmas is an opportunity to give and receive love.
