Brent was born and raised in Wilmington, North Carolina where he still lives and teaches. Originally a physical education teacher, Brent took over the theatre teaching position at his alma mater in 2012 (Laney High School) and has been there since. Tired of looking for the “perfect play” for his kids, he eventually started writing his own and ventured down the path of being published. Through his work with his students he has more than fifty published shows and hundreds of productions.

Brent has been a professing Christian his entire adult life and is very active at Northside Church in Wilmington. Having taught Sunday School, playing in various church bands on bass and guitar, he always enjoys being in church and worshipping God. When not at work, or at church, Brent owns Cape Fear Isshinryu Karate with his older brother Byron and is a 7th degree black belt. Married to Sierra and father to Rhett, his family gets the remainder of his time along with his two dogs, Delilah and Jezebel.
